FAQ
Does my dog need to be trained?
Nope!
A solid sit-stay never hurts, but I’ve worked with dogs for a long time and have a solid bag of tricks (and cookies). If your dog’s a picky eater or has dietary restrictions, please let me know in advance.
What if my dog won’t sit still?
Totally normal. Sessions are built around each dog’s attention span, personality, and pace.
What if my dog is shy or anxious?
Your dog’s experience is as important to me as the images we create together. We’ll do this in a way that’s manageable and low-stress for everyone.
Can I bring more than one dog?
Up to (3) dogs from the same home are welcome. Chaos is not a dealbreaker, but we’ll need a strategy for any more than 3 :)
What should I bring?
Pack any favorite toys, treats, or meaningful items. Don’t be shy, familiar smells and objects can help your dog feel more at home.
What about grooming?
Fur around the eyes should be trimmed so I can capture personality in the eyes. Anything beyond basic grooming is entirely up to you.
Extra credit (esp for seniors and smushies): apply a small amount of coconut or olive oil to nose daily the week prior to session. You’ll be amazed at the new shiny nose underneath.
What should my dog wear?
Less is more. A favorite collar works best, just remove any distracting tags (rabies, license, etc) prior to session.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that feel like you, but avoid big logos or busy graphics (sorry Broncos/Nuggets/Avs fans). Bring clean shoes and/or cute socks.
Where do sessions take place?
In my RiNo studio, outdoors on location or in your home (limited). We’ll choose the setting based on the kind of images you want and what makes the most sense for your dog.
Can I be in the photos too?
Absolutely. I encourage even the most camera shy person to be included in some way (hands, feet, etc). Trust me, you’ll want this.
How long does a session take?
I work on dog time, not the clock.
Typically this is 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on session type.
How much does it cost?
Sessions start at $250. Images are purchased separately and start at $650.
On average, clients spend between $850 - $1950.
Do you offer prints and wall art?
Yes. I offer finished pieces meant to be seen off-screen and lived with. All prints include the matching digital file.
Do I get the digitals too?
Any print you order comes with matching digital file.
Additional sets of files are available for purchase, ranging from a few to the entire archive.
When do I see my images?
Usually the same day. After your session, you’ll view proofs, select your favorites and choose what to take home.
How do I book a session?
I offer a limited number of sessions each month. Contact me to schedule yours.
